What is Adult Foster Care?

What Is Adult Foster CareBeacon Adult Foster Care, Inc. is a Massachusetts-approved Adult Foster Care agency that began servicing members in July, 2010. Adult Foster Care is a MassHealth (Medicaid)-funded program that provides 24-hour home care services for qualified members in an individualized home setting, through the personalized assistance of a family or non-family caregiver. Adult Foster Care is an alternative to nursing home or assisted living placement. It provides members with a safe and secure living environment with as few restrictions as possible, thus promoting opportunities for community interaction and integration. Caregivers receive a tax-free payment for their services.

After several years in historic downtown New Bedford, Beacon Adult Foster Care, Inc. has relocated to Central Village in Westport, Massachusetts. We service members in Fall River, New Bedford and throughout Southeastern and Eastern Massachusetts; including the Greater Boston area south of Boston and communities east of the Rhode Island/ Massachusetts border.
